Beat your Property Professionals on the race track?
Race wheel to wheel, sitting only inches (mm) off the ground at 60mph, four abreast into the first corner – this is the closest thing you will get to motor racing without a licence.
The joint RICS/SPA/PPA Charity Karting day is this year at Thruxton Kart Centre (just off the A303 west of Andover) a circuit which is perfect for this type of event.
As part of RICS’ 150-year anniversary in 2018, it is partnering with LandAid, the property industry charity, to deliver an inspirational programme to help end youth homelessness and deliver the biggest ever single fundraising initiative in LandAid’s history.
RICS is committed in the South East to raise £345,000 which will provide 23 bed spaces for young people at risk of homelessness. More details can be found in our South East Toolkit here at www.landaid.org
Professionally organised competition with race marshals, timekeepers and the use of 20 Thruxton Thunderkarts. Teams (of four or five) compete in an Endurance Race, deciding on driver changes (three compulsory pit stops), fuel stops, driver order and overall race management. The winner being the team which has completed the most laps within the race duration.
Come and race against fellow professionals in the property and construction market, enjoying the sensation of speed and power at this fabulous networking event whilst at the same time helping to raise money for Pledge 150 LandAid in the South East.
Food and refreshments will be available during the afternoon.
12:30 Arrival and registration
13:00 Safety Briefing session (attendance essential)
13:30 Qualifying team racing
Additional information and booking details may be found on the following link: https://ww2.rics.org/uk/events/networking/thruxton-charity-karting/ . There is a limit of 20 teams in all and I know interest is already high, so you might need to act swiftly in order to secure your Kart.
The main purpose of the event is to raise money for Pledge 150, Land Aid, the RICS’s sponsored charity in this, its 150th year. It should also provide an ideal opportunity for networking amongst property and construction professionals.
Racing overalls, helmets and gloves are provided. Competitors should bring trainers for driving and a spare set of clothes to change into after racing in the event of wet weather.
Please note the use of helmet cameras is not permitted by Thruxton Karting.
Please note: Late arrivals will only be allowed to race at the discretion of the Race Director.
Upon registering for the Thruxton Charity Karting activity you hereby agree to hold RICS/SPA/PPA harmless and make no claim, demand or bring any action against RICS/SPA/PPA, either alone or jointly with others, for any personal injury or other loss or damage.
