Annual SPA Clay Shoot

2nd June 2017

A bumper turnout of over 100 competitors blasted their way around 8 stands in glorious sunshine at the Annual SPA Clay shoot one Friday afternoon in May, an event so ably organised by Peter Cliffe Roberts.

This year’s winners of the David Olds Memorial Trophy were The Romfield Revellers and team member Dick Carne took the newly created E3 cup as the day’s top gun. Moore Accuracy were runners up. Last year’s Trophy winners, the Good, the Bad, the Ugly and the Deluded were pushed into third place, but they still managed to retain some of their former glory by winning the flush following a tense, three team shoot-out decider in the closing moments of the afternoon.

SPA Chairwoman, Nella Pang presented the winners with magnums (wine, that is, not shooters) kindly donated by Dutton Gregory and E3 Consulting and Simpson Hilder Associates once more generously funded the marquee hire.
