Another successful Gala Dinner held by the SPA…
Thursday 11th October was a glitzy evening at the Grand Harbour hotel in Southampton. The Hollywood themed Charity Property Gala Dinner was in aid of the Society of St James charity, a homelessness charity based in Southampton.
The evening began with a drinks reception where property professionals from Southampton, Portsmouth and Bournemouth networked around the room and took note of the auction and raffle prizes that were on offer for the evening.
The evening started with Denise Bull Chair of SPA addressing the property professionals with a speech of what has happened during the year at the SPA and the property industry in general, then she gave the mic to Michelle Jeffrey of the Society of St James who introduced the charity and spoke about the wonderful work they do for homeless people of Southampton and surrounding areas.
After the speeches Russel Parker of Fox & Sons Auctioneers who was the host for the evening started by making attendees play a game of heads and tails – the lucky winner won a laptop, but then they kindly donated this back to the auction for later in the evening.
A three-course dinner was served whilst SPA volunteers went around selling raffle tickets for the numerous fantastic raffle prizes that were on offer and had been kindly donated by various companies across the South Coast. At this time Russel announced how to find out who the winner of the table prize was! Homehub Southampton kindly sponsored the tables prizes which true to the Hollywood theme were two cinema tickets with instructions on the clapper boards in the middle of the table on how to claim the tickets! Each table had one winner.
After dinner Russel began the auction for the evening which included some amazing prizes such as; a Velodrome experience with a GB Gold Medallist – this prize was the highest bid prize of the evening and went for £1100! Also, in the lots were a Cricket experience with Mark Ramprakash; Sunday lunch at the exclusive Spitbank Fort; Saints FC shirt and tickets to any game and not forgetting the Southampton famous Asbestos Survey!
The evening continued with property professionals getting memorable photos in the photo booth kindly sponsored by Ashville Asset Management - See photos from the hilarious photobooth from the evening here: https://www.speedypix.com/spa2018
The evening closed with more drinking and dancing on the dancefloor by the Oscar’s! The amount raised is still being calculated and we will confirm soon as to how much was raised from the evening.
The SPA would like to thank all those who donated prizes to the raffle and auction, without your generosity the amount raised wouldn’t happen so it is much appreciated.
