DESCRIPTION:Venue: Acorn Shooting School at Beacon Hill Farm\, Salisbury SP4 0EL\n(www.acornshooting.com) \nDate: Friday 19th May\, arrive by 12.00 pm for a 12.30 pm start \nEntries: Teams of 4 guns\, or we will try to accommodate individual entries by forming them into teams. \nCost: £560 per team (£140 per gun) to include:\n• Tea\, coffee\, bacon rolls and pastries on arrival.\n• Soft drinks\, homemade cakes and cream teas during shooting.\n• Competition comprising 50 clays per gun\, over 8 varied “sporting” stands\, plus (new this year) a 100-clay Team Flush.\n• Once the shooting has finished – wine and beer will be served.\n• The scores will be recorded and prizes and trophies including Top Team\, Team Runners-up\, Top Gun and Top Team Flush will be awarded.\n• All cartridges are included\, and each of the competition stands will be manned by a qualified instructor\, to help any novices / improvers. \nThe David Olds Memorial Prize\, an award donated by SPA in memory of David\, will be presented to the highest scoring team. \nSimpson Hilder Associates are kindly sponsoring the 100-clay Team Flush – an exciting addition this year to our day’s shooting. \nClive Emson Auctioneers\, Dutton Gregory\, E3 Consulting and Trinity Rose are all kindly sponsoring various prizes and trophies and we are grateful to them for their continued support. Yet the best part about pairing food with wine is the experimentation and delights at finding a pairing that YOU enjoy. \nSpanish wine can be intimidating for beginners due to the unfamiliar names — it’s more Tempranillo & Albarino than Merlot and Chardonnay. But the secret to drinking Spanish is … it’s all about the food! 😉 \nOn the Galician coast we find Rias Baixas were some of Spain’s most distinguished whites are found. Indeed\, the tasting shall kick off with the great whites we can find in this great wine country. Albarino\, Spain’s high quality white grape variety from Rias Baixas\, is the ideal place to begin developing the tasting further with some white anchovies. \nThe final part of the tasting pitches the old-firm classic region of Rioja – whites and reds\, young and fruity as well as mature and oaked – paired with nibbles such as iberico cheese\, manchego cheese\, chorizo\, fresh ripe tomatoes on the vine\, sachichon\, spicy cheese with jalapenos and red chilies\, sun-dried tomatoes in olive oil\, Serano ham\, etc. \nYou will learn the theory behind matching wine and food and then put the theory into practice … how fun! \nBook tickets on Eventbrite
