31st October 2016

Strictly Southampton Property raises over £6.4k for Wessex Heartbeat and Countess Mountbatten!

The evening of the year organised by the Southampton Property Association & Southern Daily Echo was held on Thursday 13th October at the Hilton Ageas, over 270 property professionals from all over Hampshire enjoyed a night of professional dance acts, an auction, networking and of course our very own SPA members competing to be titled winners of the Salsa and Tango dances!

8 members from the SPA had been training for over 8 weeks with Dizzyfeet Dancing for this night and each had there very own special dance move for it! In the end the winners were; Mike Tamlyn (from Remarkable Group) and his dance partner Lauren Harley for the Salsa; and Brooke Manning (from Lester Aldridge) and her dance partner Ian Pritchard for the Tango. All runner-up dancers received there own medal for taking part.

Before competition kicked off with the SPA dancers, a professional dance act was performed by Derek Hartley and his partner Claire Hitchman to give the audience a taste of what was to come! Derek was also a judge for the evening, along with Heather Parsons (from the People's Strictly) and the SPA chairwoman Nella Pang.

After the last dance, two of the youngest members of Dizzyfeet dancing gave the audience an extra show, Veronica Janus and Maximilian Stryjski performed a great number from there dance school.

The evening progressed with an auction which host and regular on 'Homes Under the Hammer' star Graham Barton made sure the audience were participating and maximising their bids on various great auction prizes, from a; Wessex Heartbeat 25th Birthday Variety Show, to a 1966 England Football Team Print and of course the classic property Asbestos Survey.

The evening continued with enough time for other property professionals to show their own dance moves on the dance floor, then drew to a close around 1am.

With plenty of opportunities to raise money from the auction and raffle the evening managed to make over £6.4k to the two chosen charities of the evening Wessex Heartbeat and Countess Mountbatten.
