21st January 2020

Over 70 members turned out on Monday evening for the 73rd Annual General Meeting of the Southampton Property Association, held within the delightful Grade 2 listed officer’s mess rooms in Carlton Place, Southampton.

As is customary, Hon. Secretary Chris Clark conducted the business of the evening and chair Denise Bull delivered the Chair’s report for 2019 with the association running some 30 events during 2019, which included Cricket, Brewery Tours, Golf, Shooting and the monthly Friday Frolics, culminating in the Annual Autumn Ball where over £4,000 was raised for the Association’s chosen Charity, the Southampton based Society of St James for the Homeless. She thanked the committee for their support during her 2 years as chair and Chris Clark for all his hard work as Hon. Secretary. 2019 Treasurer Richard Huffer reported to the members that the Association was in good financial health.

After 10 years as treasurer Richard has decided to step down as treasurer, but remain on the committee. Chris Orr has taken on the role of the new treasurer and thanks went to Richard for his work as treasurer. Denise installed Joe Walker as the new chair of the SPA and Denise becomes Immediate Past Chair.
