Golf Tournament Review

6th May 2010

Nineteen teams of four took part in the above competition and fortunately the rain which was forecast did not arrive. The windy conditions, however, made the course even more challenging which I assume is why no team managed to score above 80 points.

The longest drive, sponsored by Southampton Property Association, was initially claimed by Mark Withers of Paris Smith, but was narrowly beaten by Philip Brannon from the team of Moore Blatch and he was the last player in the field.

Julian Larkin representing the team of CB Richard Ellis won the nearest the pin twelfth hole sponsored by Turley Associates.

The winning team was also CB Richard Ellis with a magnificent net albatross by James Pennington on the par 5 eighth hole.

I am pleased to say that the Meon Valley course was in very good condition and the greens were fair. To my knowledge there were no complaints on the catering, both before and after the golf.

Best regards.
